Information provided on our website is intended as general information only.
Vehicle specifications, product information, service descriptions, prices, images and other website content may change without notice.
While we make reasonable efforts to ensure information on our website is accurate and current, we do not guarantee that all information is complete, accurate or suitable for every vehicle or application.
You should contact us for advice specific to your vehicle and circumstances.
3. Quotes and Estimates
Where we provide a quote or estimate, it will generally be based on the information available to us at the time.
A quote may be subject to inspection of the vehicle and confirmation of the required parts and work.
Additional work may be required where:
Additional faults are identified after dismantling or inspection
Existing components are damaged, worn or unsafe
Additional parts or materials are required
The condition of the vehicle differs from the information originally provided
Manufacturer or regulatory requirements require additional work
Previously unknown problems are discovered
Where reasonably practicable, we will seek your approval before carrying out additional chargeable work.
An estimate is not necessarily a fixed price unless expressly stated in writing as a fixed-price quote.
4. Bookings and Appointments
Bookings are subject to availability.
We may require a deposit or other payment to secure certain bookings, particularly where specialised parts have been ordered or significant workshop time has been allocated.
If you need to cancel or change a booking, please provide as much notice as possible.
Repeated cancellations, late cancellations or failure to attend an appointment may result in a cancellation fee or loss of a deposit where applicable.
5. Vehicle Drop-Off
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their vehicle is delivered to us at the agreed time and in a condition that allows the requested work to be carried out safely.
Please remove valuable personal belongings from your vehicle before leaving it with us.
We are not responsible for personal belongings left in a vehicle unless required by law.
6. Vehicle Condition and Existing Damage
We take reasonable care of vehicles while they are in our possession.
However, older, modified, damaged or poorly maintained vehicles may contain components that are already worn, weakened, corroded or otherwise compromised.
During servicing or repairs, components may need to be removed, moved, disconnected or disturbed.
If an existing component fails during or following the repair process because of its pre-existing condition, we may not be responsible for that failure.
We will communicate with you where reasonably practicable if we identify significant pre-existing problems or additional risks.
7. Modifications and Performance Work
Some modifications and performance-related services may alter the performance, handling, emissions, fuel consumption, noise or operating characteristics of a vehicle.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that modifications requested or approved by them are appropriate for their intended use.
Where applicable, customers are also responsible for ensuring that their vehicle remains compliant with applicable laws, registration requirements and roadworthiness requirements.
We will not knowingly perform work that is unlawful or unsafe.
8. ECU Tuning and Remapping
ECU tuning, remapping and performance modifications are performed according to the requirements and condition of the vehicle.
Results can vary depending on the vehicle, engine condition, fuel, existing modifications and other factors.
Performance tuning may increase stress or load on mechanical components.
SSC4WD is not responsible for the failure of pre-existing or inadequately maintained components where that failure is not caused by our negligent workmanship.
Customers should ensure that any tuning or modification is appropriate for the intended use of the vehicle.
9. Parts and Components
Parts supplied by SSC4WD may be sourced from manufacturers, distributors or other suppliers.
Where applicable, manufacturer warranties may apply to parts.
We will assist customers with reasonable warranty claims where appropriate, but the terms and availability of a manufacturer’s warranty are determined by the relevant manufacturer or supplier.
Equivalent or alternative parts may sometimes be used where agreed with the customer or where reasonably necessary.
10. Customer-Supplied Parts
We may, at our discretion, agree to install parts supplied by a customer.
Where customer-supplied parts are accepted:
We do not warrant the quality, suitability or compatibility of those parts.
We are not responsible for defects in customer-supplied parts.
Additional labour may be charged if the supplied parts are incorrect, incomplete or unsuitable.
We may refuse to install a part if we reasonably consider it unsafe, unsuitable or incompatible with the vehicle.
Our workmanship warranty, where applicable, does not extend to failures caused by defective or unsuitable customer-supplied parts.
11. Delays
We will make reasonable efforts to complete work within the estimated timeframe.
However, completion times may be affected by:
Parts availability
Supplier delays
Additional faults discovered during repairs
Vehicle condition
Specialist work requirements
Unexpected workshop issues
Manufacturer or technical requirements
Circumstances outside our reasonable control
We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
12. Payment
Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due when the vehicle or goods are ready for collection.
We may require payment of deposits, progress payments or other amounts before ordering specialised parts or commencing certain work.
All prices are in Australian dollars.
Unless stated otherwise, prices are inclusive of applicable GST.
We may withhold release of a vehicle, goods or other property to the extent permitted by law where payment remains outstanding.
13. Uncollected Vehicles
Customers must collect their vehicle promptly once notified that the work has been completed.
Where a vehicle remains at our premises for an unreasonable period after notification, storage or other reasonable charges may apply where permitted by law.
If a vehicle remains uncollected for an extended period, we may take further action in accordance with applicable Queensland laws.
14. Warranties and Consumer Guarantees
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, restricted or modified.
Where Australian Consumer Law applies, customers may have statutory consumer guarantees in relation to goods and services supplied by SSC4WD.
Any additional warranty offered by SSC4WD is subject to its specific terms and conditions.
A warranty may not apply where a failure is caused by misuse, neglect, accident, unauthorised modification, continued use after a fault becomes apparent, normal wear and tear, or other circumstances outside the scope of the applicable warranty.
15. Safety and Roadworthiness
SSC4WD may refuse to perform work or return a vehicle to the customer where we reasonably believe the vehicle is unsafe or otherwise unsuitable for road use.
Where we identify a safety-related defect, we may recommend that the issue be repaired before the vehicle is driven.
Customers are responsible for informing us of relevant information about the vehicle, including known faults, previous repairs, modifications and intended use.
16. Vehicle Storage and Security
We take reasonable measures to secure vehicles while they are at our premises.
However, customers should not leave valuable personal items in vehicles.
Where a vehicle is left outside our normal operating hours or remains at our premises after completion of work, the customer acknowledges that storage arrangements may differ from normal workshop operating conditions.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SSC4WD is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from the supply of our services, including loss of income, loss of business, loss of use of a vehicle or other economic loss.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful.
Where liability cannot legally be excluded but may be limited, our liability will be limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.
18. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for:
Providing accurate information about their vehicle
Informing us of known faults, modifications and previous repairs
Advising us of the intended use of the vehicle where relevant
Providing accurate contact and billing information
Following reasonable instructions provided by SSC4WD
Paying invoices when due
